The Los Angeles Rams may have given up the biggest chip by signing quarterback Jared Goff, and if his hapless performance for the team in the opening game of the season is anything to go by, then things could in fact be worse than earlier thought.

The Rams experienced the most unfortunate season opener in the entire league when they were thrashed 28-0 by the 49ers on Monday night. Nothing was working for the LA side; neither defense nor offense. The Rams didn’t had even a single attempt at field-goal the whole match, with virtually each of their moments of possession ending in either a punt or a turnover.

With such an outing in Week 1, it makes many analysts and fans alike to question the decision by the Rams to trade up to #1 in the 2016 draft to sign the 21-year old Goff. It looks even worse when you take into account that the franchise had traded up to six picks to the Titans in order to get the top pick. Also included in this massive haul was the team’s 1st and 3rd round picks in the 2017 draft, although no picks came back from the Titans for the upcoming season’s draft.

Can Goff survive the year at the Rams? Only time will tell.
