The Birmingham Barons have brought home the Don Mincher Organization of the Year Award, with General Manager Jonathan Nelson also being crowned the Jimmy Bragan Executive of the Year by the Southern League of Professional Baseball Clubs. Both parties last achieved similar honors back in 2013.

In a statement following the celebrations, the Logan family stated that they’re humbled by the recognition, adding that the awards were a testament to the good work being done by the team’s front office employees as well as the whole Birmingham community.

Ever since the Barons returned to downtown Birmingham a couple of seasons ago, the team continues to set the bar higher by offering their fans one of the best performances in Minor League Baseball. It’s no wonder that the Don Mincher Organization of the Year Honors for 2016 was awarded to them. With this honor, the Barons are set for another nomination for the league’s John H. Johnson Presidential Trophy.

Nelson was also elated by his Jimmy Bragan Executive of the Year recognition, terming the two honors as a true reflection of the kind of fantastic people at Regions Field.
